Getting Scrappy With It!

As promised, here is a quick post to show some of the recent layouts I have done. As you may or may not have known, Friday night was our monthly scrapbooking get-together. Six hours of scrap and I proudly finished a whopping 2 layouts! I guess you can tell I talked quite a bit while I was there. The first layout I did was for OLW. The word this time is "Stop" and when I saw it, the song by Vanilla Ice popped into my head. You know, "Alright, Stop. Collaborate and listen. Ice is back......" So this is what I came up with:
I found me some Love Elsie at the LSS on Thursday and was so excited to use it. I used a Pencil Lines sketch for this one.
On Tuesday, I worked the polls for the constitutional ammendment for our state. There were only 2 questions so we weren't expecting too many to show up to vote. The other ladies I was volunteering with told me to be sure to bring something to do so I wouldn't get bored. So I took my office chair and the same bag of supplies that I took Friday night. I sat it up so that I could sit at the table and do what I needed to do when a voter came in. Then when no one was there to vote, I just spun around and had my stuff all laid out on the table behind me. I had put together several "kits" of patterned paper, cardstock, and matching embellishments for Friday's crop so this is what I had to use. It worked out great! And I was able to get so much done....10 pages! So without further ado, here they are.

This one I did for the Unpubbed challenge.
Used some Hambly rub-ons here:
I use so much of this Magnolia paper by My Mind's Eye. I love the colors.
Had fun using the pink and brown for this layout of pics I took when Leah gave birth to Natalie in October.
And another one....
This turned out to be one of the simplest, but one of my favorites. I think I paid $1.20 for the ecru/black sheet of paper when we went down to Scrap Etc. last month. And the title is done in blank chipboard that I rubbed with my black ink pad. Just love it!
Annessa said that this was her favorite. I used Ronda's technique for the "Goofy". I was pretty satisfied with how it turned out as well.
This is another fav mostly because of the picture (Get a load of Andrew's expression-it is where I got the title from), but also because of the cool cut-out I added. One of the ladies that I was working with has a hobby of cutting intricate designs from paper with tiny scissors. She cut this out while we were there and gave it to me to use on a page. I thought it fit perfect with this Bohemia Paper. I inked it a bit for a little more definition to it.
This one was a simple one. Another pretty paper I picked up at Scrap Etc. and the MM metal plate was given to me by my SIL on Friday night since she does not have boys. Worked out great for me....
And lastly, here is another one of my favs. I did this one for the Pencil Lines DT search. (BTW, I need to send in two more layouts...any suggestions?) I love these colors! I just can't get enough of them. Check out Andrew once again...Now you can see why Leah and John had to do their "Andrew faces" too! The title says, "A Family Affair". You might not see the "A" because it is a HS ghost letter and is looking rather ghostly. I put rub ons on it to help it stand out, but it is still getting lost. Oh well.
So there you have it. 2 layouts from Friday night and 10 from Tuesday. Are you scrapbook paged out?

Online Crop

On Friday night, I participated in an online crop over at Pick of the Patch. Leah and Heather(who has updated her blog) skyped with me while doing this layout. I only lasted long enough to complete this one and then I had to go to bed. I stayed up too late on Thursday night. This was a challenge to use 1 sheet of cardstock, 2 photos, 3 patterned papers, 4 ribbons, 5 flowers and 6 brads.

One Little Word

A new site, One Little Word, just started today with their first challenge. There are some awesome girls on their design team, some of which have blogs I frequent. The challenge word was "GO". As I looked through some pictures, I found two of Daniel teaching Annessa to ride her bike. Immediately, "Letting Go" popped into my head. As I went through my paper and some of the new products I purchased on NSD, I found the HS clock overlay. So perfect for what I wanted to do. So here it is:

Some Layouts...

So here are some of the layouts I've done lately. The first one is from last weekend...it's the ONE layout that I got completed over the NSD weekend.
Next is a layout that I did for a challenge on the Unpubbed website. The challenge was to do a layout about an object that you see in your house daily and what it means to you.
This layout was for the Scrapjack #8 Stephanie Howell. You can go to their website to see the target "jack".
Tonight I did two layouts while talking to Leah, Jamie and Heather using Skype. If you have never heard of Skype or have never tried it....it is Awesome! We were able to 4-way chat with each other just as clear as a bell! And it was all free! Enjoyed doing all these layouts...hope you enjoyed seeing them. :)

Whatta Weekend!

Have you ever had a weekend that was just so packed full of stuff...especially fun stuff? Well, this was one of those weekends for me. We had a little scrapbooking mixed with a bit of baby shower and some more scrapbooking, a little roadtrip fun, some people-watching at the mall, a little more scrapbooking, some surprise birthday stuff and I wrapped it all up with yet another baby shower! How's that for fun and exciting?! I bet you are just dying for me to fill you all in, aren't you?
Friday night was our monthly crop get-together. We also planned to have a surprise for our friend Amy while we were there. It was so funny because when she came in we hollered "Surprise" but she thought we were just being silly. Moments later it hit her that all those gifts were actually for her. We had a good time doing that for her and of course, we always have a good time scrapping! We got us an updated picture with all of our gang that have purchased the ATG 700. Don't we all look so....uhh....crazy cool with our guns?We had a great time chatting and doing a little bit of scrapping too!

We got up early to leave for Birmingham on Saturday morning. With it being National Scrapbook Day, we decided to take a road trip to the Scrap Etc. store that was having such a great sale. We got there early enough to be one of the first 25 in and got this cool scrap apron.Got some good deals! Can't wait to use it all. After shopping there, we found our way over to Scrapbook Mania where our blogging buddy, Cheryl is on the DT. Cute store and such nice people. She took pics of us and said that we might end up on there website....but we didn't. :)

We ate lunch at the Galleria and enjoyed our time together talking and doing a little people watching. We were taking our time getting home because not only was this a fun scrapbooking trip for us gals, it was also a way to keep our friend Amy busy while her husband finished the decorating for her 30th Surprise Birthday Party. We pulled in and she was truly suprised! Wow...what a responsilbility to pull something like that off! I was so nervous and so glad when it was all over. It's hard to keep secrets like that.

And then on Sunday night we had another baby shower for a lady in our church. So it was a weekend of cake, scrapping and lots of fun! I'll try to get back on here to show you some more pics of my layouts I did complete....although I think I only did one!

I am WAY behind on my blog reading! I hope to get the chance tonight or in the morning. Don't go anywhere....I'm on my way over to read and comment! :)
