Step into S-P-R-I-N-G Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to my blog! Today we are celebrating the beginning of a new season with the Step into Spring Blog Hop brought to you by the Design Team from Memorable Seasons! If you did not start your hop today on the Memorable Seasons blog, please jump back over there so you do not miss anything. Today we are looking at the word S-P-R-I-N-G and taking you through all the steps for creating a fabulous layout using an exclusive sketch created for this blog hop by Liz Chidester , which was the first step! You have already hopped through the letters S, P, R, I, N, and now you are here for the letter G.

Today, G stands for "Give that layout a title and some journaling!" Here's my layout up to this point.
Now, I am a stickler for having a title of some sort and some journaling on every layout I complete. The only ones that I do without titles are the ones that the photos speak for themselves so clearly that no title is needed. And if I don't at least tell the date and some basic information, then the journaling isn't complete. I usually wait until the end to do both my title and journaling. I like to think about what I'm going to say as I'm doing all the other steps. This gives me time to think about the photo and what was happening. Sometimes, the title comes so easily and other times I have to really ponder. Same with journaling. If you ever have trouble giving your layout a title and journaling, I advise you to leave a place for it so that you can come back and add it when you have had time to let your mind clear.

Now to see my layout with my title and journaling added, you will have to head over to Memorable Seasons to check out the Blog Hop post! There you will see a complete reveal of all of the Design Team's finished layouts!

Be sure to leave me a comment telling me what you think about titles and journaling. By doing so, you will be one step closer to a fabulous Memorable Seasons prize as well as getting your name entered in a RAK from me!

Thanks for joining in on our first ever Blog Hop at Memorable Seasons! We hope you have enjoyed your time doing this!

I really do need to get better about creating a space for my journaling, but I love to add journaling and a title is a must.

Great info!!!

I love to journal! And I work the same way you do: I think about what I'm going to say while I work on the page. A lot of memories come flooding back as I'm staring at that picture on my work table! Thanks for the advice!

I am not the best at journaling. Need to get better at that.

I usually wait till last for my journaling as well, but sometimes I don't like the idea of adding it to a design I am happy with as it is which makes it more of a challenge to get it on there.

I also journal on every LO and have some sort of title. Off to see all the finished LO's.

I am a journaller too...and it's very rare for me not to have a title either!

It's funny that I also leave the title and journaling until the end! I've got to have at least the place/name/date on it!

I like to figure out my journaling first to make sure I have enough room. Titles, however, tend to evolve with the layout. Sometimes, I know where it is going to go and sometimes, I have to fit it in

Thanks for the inspiration, I need to get better about my journaling. I am good at the headlines and usually noting the date in small alphas, but to tell a story not so great.

Sometimes finding the right title is sooo hard. My DH is pretty clever so I usually go to him. I agree, I try to journal something on every page! Can't wait to see your completed LO!!

Love those papers! You always do a great job with journaling.

Agreed, the title and journaling are the hardest. But very necessary though. Thanks for sharing!

Darling layout Telah! I'm with you on needing a title and I've been trying to add more journaling lately after seeing some of my old layouts that I really journaled well on. Fabulous final step for our layouts!

I used to feel every Lo needed a title but there have been some recently that seem just find without so I've left them that way.

I really need to do some pages - I found that I like lil books that tell a story!

Thanks for the inspiration Telah! Journaling is always so important but so hard to do!

It's usually the last step for me too. I tend to think about it also when I'm doing the rest of the LO!

I think journaling and titles are what make scrapbooking stand out! I love reading the little thoughts and comments on LO's!

Your Title tells me what your page is about. Simple yet says it all

I love titles, but I am not big on journaling unless there is a story behind the pics! Love your LO so far - have to head over to the forum to see it finished!

I usually don't have a problem with a title, even if it's not a very creative title! Journaling is something that I used to do A LOT of, but now, sometimes, I let the photos speak for themselves. I'm always sure to add a date though! That's VERY important to all of my layouts! Love the way you used the sketch, and I love the color scheme of your layout!!
